General Care of Jewelry
Fine jewelry needs special care to maintain its beauty. Try to avoid “heaping” jewelry in your jewelry box! Components such as pearls, wood and semi-precious stones can be easily scratched by metal clasps, earwires and earring backs.

Pearl Jewelry
To maintain the luster (shine) and luminescence (the “rainbow” colors you see when you tilt your pearls back an forth) of your jewelry, wipe pearls with a soft, clean cloth after wearing. This will remove skin oil, perfume or power from the pearls. Skin oils and perfumes, in particular, can stain pearls and cause deterioration of the silk. Remember pearl bracelets and earrings need care as well as necklaces.

Eventually, your pearl jewelry from Divergence Design may need to be professionally cleaned or restrung. We will be happy to ensure that our pearl jewelry will last a lifetime. Just return your necklace with a check for $20 to cover cleaning, restringing and shipping. If your jewelry requires additional repair, we will contact you with a quote for repair.

Jewelry with Wood Components
Just like fine furniture, wood requires care to maintain its rich wood grain. After wear, gently wipe wood with a clean, soft cloth. Furniture polish, such as Pledge, may be use occasionally to prevent scratches and bring out the richness of the wood grain.

Semi-Precious Stones
Many semi-precious stones used in Divergence Design’s jewelry are “soft” and can be easily scratched. To prevent scratches, we recommend storing your jewelry in individual soft bags, or in boxes with cotton padding.

Sizing bracelets:
To ensure an accurate fit, please measure your wrist with a tape measure and include this information when ordering. We will add 1/2" to your wrist measurement for the final finished bracelet.

Due to availability of materials and variance in natural materials, jewelry may not precisely replicate items pictured on this web site. We reserve the right to substitute materials if needed. Every effort will be made to reproduce items as accurately as possible.
